Why This Rage And Revenge

Human beings struggle very hard to keep their both ends meet in their life. Hence from dawn to dusk they are toiling very hard . Meanwhile they take time to relax in the evening through various means, such as reading books & magazines, listening music & songs, gardening, games and watching T.V. Let us take for an example, listening songs which are different in nature i.e. philosophical and love songs.

The songs which became popular in the 60s and 70s were philosophical ones. The hero/ heroine faces suffering, separation, death and pain and takes consolation in such songs. The themes of such movies were idealism, social issues/ evils and search for meaning in life. That did resonate with that generation. That was a time that the young India started emerging as a nation. The songs that became popular in 80s and 90s were love songs. That generation was more relaxed than the previous generations. The focus of youngsters of that generation was love. The stories were about arranged marriage Vs love marriage; love beyond boundaries of caste, language etc. there were few who opted for love marriage and a majority idealized love marriage but preferred to go by tradition, culture and desires of conservative parents.

In the modern world, the songs represents the anger of younger generation. With media explosion and penetration; kids, teenagers and young people are misled and mistaken. For them, ‘love’ is nothing but chemistry. As a result, relationships are casual and only short-term. ‘ Chemistry’ of relationship does not need long- term commitment. Healthy relationship has degraded to infatuation that is misunderstood as love. Break – up of any friendship is considered as ‘rejection’ . Many incidents of violence like acid throwing , shooting, burning and murder of girls.

The above- mentioned paragraphs will surely elucidate two points:
( 1 ). It is time for the older generation to think and younger generation to reflect. The older generation should think whether they failed to shape the younger generation.
( 2 ). Today the younger generation has failed to build a positive attitude. Due to the two points what I mentioned, the younger generation today adapted in their life a negative attitude and they express in their life rage and revenge. In order to shape the future generation all should develop positive attitude in their lives. Let me explain this point with help of a story.

There was a man who made his living selling balloons at a fair. He had balloons of many different colors, including red, yellow, blue, and green. Whenever business was slow, he would release a helium – filled balloon into the air. When the children saw the balloon go up, they wanted one. They would come up to him, buy a balloon and his sales would go up. All day , he continued to release a balloon whenever the sales slowed down. One day, the balloon man felt someone tugging at his jacket . He turned around and a little boy asked , “ if you release a black balloon, would that also fly?”. Moved by the boy’s concern, the man replied gently, “son, it is not the color of the balloon , it is what’s inside that makes it go up.”

The same principle applies to our lives : It’s what’s inside that counts. And what ‘s inside of us that makes us go up is our attitude. William James of Harvard University said, “ the greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind. Most of our attitudes were shaped during our formative years. While we were born with tendencies toward temperaments there are three factors that largely determine our attitude of formation. These are the triple E’s of attitude: 1. Environment, 2. Experience and 3. Education. Let all of us, irrespective of students, youngsters ,married people and the elders develop a positive attitude and make this world a place of heaven with the constitutional values of Freedom, Justice and Love.
